Maintain Your Glass Shower

So you've finally got that perfect glass shower or shower doors. You've spent good money making that bathroom look incredible and we want to help you keep it that way with some helpful shower cleaning and maintenance tips.

Shower Glass Maintenance

You don't always need to rush out for the latest and greatest (and expensive) shower cleaning products, just poke around your kitchen or pantry and see if you have some baking soda and vinegar laying around. Vinegar can be used for cleaning the glass and tile inside a shower and has been proven to be tough on mold--something that even bleach can't boast. If your shower head seems to be clogged or not putting out the amount of water you expect, you can soak your shower head in some vinegar and then rinse thoroughly with water to minimize and eliminate buildup. Do you have some nasty hard water stains on the shower? Take out some baking soda and a damp rag to quickly wipe away these spots without damaging the glass.

In addition to the tips above, you can also use some other common household items to help clean your shower and shower doors. For instance, you can use a fabric softener dryer sheet to work on the areas of dry glass with soap scum or hard water buildup. With a little scrubbing and some elbow grease you'll loosen up the grime which makes it much easier to completely remove. Another great option is the use of WD-40. WD-40 can be sprayed on both wet and dry glass to remove soap scum, dirt, and other grime and then simply wipe away with a clean dry towel.
